Project Summary

For the New Scott County High School in Georgetown, KY, our team supported with a comprehensive, campus‑scale HVAC equipment package centered on geothermal water‑source heat pumps, dedicated outdoor air with energy recovery, and Daikin water‑cooled VRV heat‑recovery—plus supporting mini‑split systems and VAV terminal units for distribution and zoning flexibility.


What We Delivered (Scope Highlights)

1) Geothermal Zoning — WaterFurnace Water‑Source Heat Pumps (WSHP)

  • 117 WaterFurnace WSHP units.

  • Broad unit mix and capacities including single‑stage compressors (¾–1.5 ton), inverter compressor units (2–15 ton), and dual‑compressor 25‑ton units, configured horizontally/vertically per plans.

  • Controls and monitoring provisions via Aurora onboard safety board with BACnet MS/TP communication, ECM fan control, diagnostics, and protective safeties.

  • Hydronic connection accessories included as IMI Flow Design hose kits shipping loose for field installation.


2) DOAS + Energy Recovery — WaterFurnace / United Cool Air ERUs

  • Six (6) WSHP DOAS Energy Recovery Units with energy recovery wheel arrangements .

  • Included features called out: AHRI 1060 certified energy recovery wheel, variable speed fans, load matching capability, hot gas reheat, and BACnet controller distinctions .


3) Water‑Cooled VRV Heat Recovery — Daikin

  • Two (2) Daikin water‑cooled VRV condensing units ), 21 Daikin VRV indoor units , and four (4) branch selector boxes as the heat‑recovery VRV system package.

  • Controls/integration elements listed include iTouch Manager with BACnet IP Server software license and associated sensors/accessories as specified.

  • Training value-add: advanced owner training offered at the Louisville training center at no extra charge


4) Supplemental Zoning — Daikin VRV Mini‑Split Systems

  • Fourteen (14) Daikin VRV mini‑split systems, including wall mount and ceiling cassette indoor units.

  • Included accessory notes: BACnet gateway, low ambient wind baffles for low temperature cooling, and roof curb/penetration assemblies shipped loose for field installation.


5) Air Distribution — Daikin VAV Terminal Units

  • 103 Daikin VAV terminal units, with electric reheat on (3) units (as listed).

  • Controls note: units ship with a control panel for field controls, with controls to be provided/installed by the BMS contractor or consigned to Daikin for factory mounting).
