Project Summary

For Olive Hill Elementary School, we supported the bid effort with a coordinated HVAC equipment package that paired Daikin VRV heat-recovery zoning with AAON dedicated outdoor air/make-up air equipment and packaged rooftop heat pumps—an approach well-suited to classroom comfort control, ventilation performance, and long-term serviceability.

What We Delivered (Scope Highlights)

1) VRV Heat-Recovery Zoning (Daikin) — Basis of Design

• Six (6) Daikin VRV condensing units with heat-recovery, inverter-driven multizone performance using R‑410A.

• Fifty-seven (57) Daikin indoor units coordinated with branch selector boxes and REFNET™ piping kits as listed.

• Controls and integration elements called out in the package include navigation controllers, an iTouch controller with web + DIII expander, and a BACnet® gateway interface

• Commissioning/support included: Check, Test & Start-Up and Owner Training by Thermal Equipment Sales, plus 1-year parts & labor warranty and 6-year compressor parts-only warranty.

• Installation coordination notes documented contractor responsibilities (e.g., field piping/insulation and additional refrigerant) and included reference-only piping length estimates.

2) Outdoor Air / Make-Up Air (AAON)

• Three (3) AAON make-up air units with features supporting ventilation control and humidity management, including R‑410A, variable-capacity compressor staging, modulating hot gas reheat, and factory-mounted controls with BACnet® interface.

• AAONAIRE energy recovery wheel noted for MAU‑1 and MAU‑2 with 100% outside air, along with factory-installed Ebtron airflow stations (as listed).

• Included support: Check, Test & Start-Up and 3-year parts & labor warranty, with 5-year compressor parts-only warranty.

3) Packaged Rooftop Heat Pumps (AAON)

• Two (2) AAON rooftop heat pump units with similar package features including R‑410A, variable capacity staging, modulating hot gas reheat, factory-installed Ebtron airflow stations, and Wattmaster controls with BACnet® interface.

• Included support: Check, Test & Start-Up and 3-year parts & labor warranty, with 5-year compressor parts-only warranty .

4) Supplemental Split System (Daikin)

• One (1) Daikin split system (basis of design) with inverter compressor, remote controller, condensate pump, and check/test/start-up.
