wellington elem-1The 2011 school year was an exciting one at Wellington Elementary.  This newly constructed, 76,000 sq. ft. facility cost $16.5 million to complete.  Well worth every penny to design an energy efficient and sustainable school.  In itself Wellington Elementary is a teaching tool by allowing students to physically see and experience the sustainable efforts put forth in this project.  The school meets Energy Star requirements and includes; energy efficient HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.  The layout of the school was designed for maximum flexibility.  Staff can now explain to students the function of; photovoltaic solar panels, rainwater reuse system, solar hot water system, natural water quality devices and automatic electric lighting control.  The HVAC system includes:
